MCA for March 2017
What is MCA in Kent?
MCA in Kent (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation) is a simple and safe treatment, which both men and women have. It involves skin needling to trigger fresh, new skin components in order to replace older, damaged skin. Therefore, your skin has a wonderful youthful and smoother look. It is non-surgical, and offers a natural method to reduce the appearances of wrinkles. What does Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation treat?
It targets skin which has:
- Wrinkles and Lines
- Lack of Firmness and Elasticity due to age or other factors
- Scarring (including acne and chickenpox scars)
- Enlarged pores
- Sun damage
- Pigmentation problems
- Stretch Marks
How does MCA work?
MCA in Kent uses collagen induction therapy, which boosts the natural ability of skin repairing itself after any physical damage.
Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin, the body removes the damaged collagen, elastin and other structures which are then replaced by new, fresh matter. Skin needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro injuries which trigger new, stronger collagen synthesis, yet it does not pose a risk of permanent scarring.
Skin needling is the method of pricking the skin with tiny needles to:
- Tighten loose skin and reduce lines or wrinkles,
- Reduce scarring e.g. (acne scars, surgical scars, pitted scars/ indented scars, raised scars/hypertrophic scars)
- Restore normal skin pigmentation (e.g. tohypo- pigmented or damaged skin)
- Creates brand new, healthy, younger looking skin
The process creates hundreds of microscopic “pin pricks” to activate your body’s healing process. As your skin heals, it will therefore use your own collagen to fill the “valleys” of wrinkles and scars naturally.
How many MCA treatments will I need?
Normally a course of several treatments will be required so you get desired effects, and that can be determined when you book a consultation. It’s therefore recommended you return after your course to have a regular follow up treatment to keep your skin looking optimal. Again, the frequency can be discussed at your consultation, due to the fact that each person is different. There are no guaranteed results however with MCA treatment. The outcome is dependent on the individual’s ability to react to the healing process instigated by the needling.
What is the recovery period like?
Only minor bruising and swelling is typical within the first 24-72 hours which can be easily concealed with make-up.
What are the results using MCA?
The result is smoother, firmer, younger looking skin and in the treatment of scarring, rejuvenated tissue resulting in the fading of your scars.
You may experience slight bruising or swelling during the first 24 to 72 hours so MCA shouldn’t be done a few days before a big event like a wedding, or an anniversary party.
